New take-home project launched monthly, while supplies last.

Children’s Help Desk

Pick up a craft kit for at-home learning and entertainment. Each kit contains instructions and supplies to make an item to occupy hands and delight imaginations. Dozens of families across the community will be participating in the same project! Display your projects in home windows and share your pics of finished crafts to info@mcbridelibrary.org and/or post to social media #McBrideKidsKits

McBride is proud to be a Family Place LibraryTM. Parent-Child Workshops offer a five-week program to parents and their newborn–3-year-old children featuring weekly themes: Early Literacy; Speech, Hearing, & Language Development; Early Child Development; Nutrition; and Music & Movement. The community room is set up as a hands-on playroom! A community expert will be on hand every week to share information about the vast resources available to families in our area.+

Certified therapy dogs will be at the library for read-together time. Dogs are very good listeners and offer a judgement-free environment that boosts children’s confidence, fluency, and motivation, especially for reluctant or shy readers. Reserve your 15-minute one-on-one time slot at the time of the event.

Traveling Art Hive

We provide the supplies; you come and choose how you’d like to work with them. Everyone is welcome! All ages: seniors, adults, teens, children. No art-making experience necessary.

Pumpkin Party with Story Walk

There is something for all family members at this festive event. Walk a story trail with the kids to read the picture book This Year, a Witch by Zoey Abbott, vote for your favorite Pumpkin Pageant contestants, and enjoy treats, music, and activities.
